USGBC Arizona Building Transformation Forum: Circular Economy TRUE Workshop

During this 4-hour, hands-on workshop with TRUE staff and guest speakers, participants will explore TRUE certification. Participants will be given the tools to transform their waste management plan to a commodity resource, zero waste-based plan to create a circular economy locally and globally. Focus will be on the key components of the TRUE Rating System, which include:
- Training,
- Redesigning systems and materials,
- Creating an Environmental Preferred Purchasing plan,
- Delving deep into the financial benefits of zero waste, and
- Reviewing case studies for TRUE for facilities, TRUE for Events and TRUE for Construction.
- Participants will further learn about the importance of recycling markets, steps for collecting the right data, the 10 R’s of the zero-waste hierarchy, and tools for effectively communicating results to build support for your waste program.
From local resources to global initiatives, the team will provide an overview of opportunities and funding available to take your project to the next level.
Climate Week NYC: Pioneering Circular Construction Speaker Panel

Transforming the AEC industry from a linear (extractive) economy to a circular (renewable) economy requires the calibration of multiple levers of change: policy requirements; market stimuli; and the physical and virtual infrastructures of material management; as well as the human inputs of collaboration, research, ingenuity and equity.
